INTERNATIONAL STANDARTS IN EDUCATION

St Petersburg University School of International Relations is one of the leading national and international research center. It maintains close links with its counterparts across the world: over 200 universities from Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Canada, China, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Slovakia, USA, Finland, Switzerland, Japan and many others are our partners.

Thanks to the intense international activity and wide recognition of the School abroad our students have a unique opportunity to receive a truly international education. For our students such thing as student mobility is not just an abstract notion but an indispensible part of their study program.

Each semester our students can spend a couple of months studying at one of the partner universities. A combination of language practice and an intense study program in the chosen area makes such trips extremely useful, exciting and memorable.

The School regularly organizes visits of guest lecturers, the leading faculty members of the world’s major universities, thus introducing the students to a wide range of assessments of and views on the topical problems in international relations offered by the representatives of different scientific trends and schools. Such lectures and seminars stimulate a lot of interest and are very popular with the students.

In the framework of an ongoing dialogue with foreign states’ missions in the Russian Federation the School is often visited by their representatives. Besides, such high-ranking foreign officials as ministers or senior civil servants also deliver lectures or give talks at the School during their official visits to the “Northern Capital”.

Thus, our students get practical experience of communicating with top-rank officials from the Russian Federation and abroad from first days of their study.

COME WITH US!

Both BA and MA students of the School of International Relations have a unique opportunity to participate in various optional study and internship programs. The School regularly organizes summer schools at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Also, within the framework of a unique study program the students can visit the European Headquarters Offices of the UN, International Labor Organization, World Health Organization, International Red Cross, World Trade Organization and many other international institutions in Geneva during the winter vacations.

These study trips include visits not only to the afore-mentioned organizations and lectures on their history, rules and procedures but also meetings with active Russian and foreign diplomats and politicians, and sometimes even with the School alumni who work at such international organizations.
